Life is a paradox, a constant worry of always wanting more, wanting less, wanting this, wanting something different.
No one is completely satisfied, ever.
Did you know that you became a human after 84 lakh births?
“Shrimad Bhagavad Gita Chapter 2 Verse 22 proves that one attains human life by taking innumerable births in 84 lakhs of life forms.” Despite that, you wish to be a bird, a fish, an insect, and whatnot just to escape the reality, the expectations, and the obligations of being a human.
It’s raining; meh, I like summers better. It’s sunny, meh; when will it rain? As humans of the 21st century, I feel that we are the most dissatisfied species to ever be seen on the face of this earth. Due to this, I try to find happiness in the mundane; in fallen leaves, jasmines behind my ear, a drizzle with a strong gush of wind, dark clouds, spending the whole day on a bean bag and watching 3 movies non-stop. You should try it too, life WILL give you reasons to be satisfied.
I think dissatisfaction arises from expectations and choices.
And the fact that often, we put these expectations on others than ourselves.
YOU wish to be happy, yet you wish the OTHER PERSON acted in a better way as per your expectations. But what about you? How did you act? Did you ever think that YOU did not match other people’s expectations?
श्रीकृष्ण ने मनुष्य मात्र को यह उपदेश दिया है कि 'कर्म करो और फल की चिंता मत करो.’
In context to the above statement: do YOUR thing, don’t expect others to do anything, and trust me you will be happier. Do your thing don’t worry about the result (the expectations of a good result or a bad one). Why unnecessarily worry today, when you’ll ultimately get to know what is going to happen tomorrow? Because you will be living it.
If it’s meant to be it’ll be. que sera sera, whatever will be, will be.
I was talking to some friends today, and honestly, it was so nice to hear their thoughts about a play- BARFF; that took place in the Kamani Auditorium a few days back. It was a philosophical, mind-boggling, amazing play according to them. I witnessed it, not live, but through their words; so let me paint a picture of the paradox depicted in the same: what is truth?
Truth to me is not truth to you and you cannot deem anyone as a liar because you don’t believe in what the other one said, because for them it is true, even if it’s not to you.
( The play revolves around a woman who firmly believes that a doll is her child; a real one and the husband who goes above and beyond( to the extent of replacing the doll with a bit taller one each year so that the wife feels the child is growing) all because of love. So basically, what is true for the wife is not true for the doctor she calls when she believes her child is sick.)
“Barff raises many questions - Is truth what we all experience together, or do we all have our own different truths? Does truth lead to belief, or is it the belief which constructs the truth? Does truth actually exist, or is it just a manifestation of one’s own belief?”

I also want to talk about time. and how life is a paradox and humans are the biggest one.
Have you ever heard the comment (read: taunt) that: you have all the time in the world. Why didn’t you do this, do that?
yeah, me too.
In reality, age doesn’t matter when we’re talking about having or not having time. In today’s era, unfortunately, no one has time due to the constant and competitive rat racing world with everyone trying to get ahead of each other. ( I can go on and on about that, but next time)
It is quite hard yet doable to find time and slow down for things you like to do and for people you like.
See, in retrospect, no one has the time ... adults feel children have all the time in the world that they waste. Children feel adults have no time, but in reality, all of us are busy, children are busy as per their capacity and adults are as per theirs.... that was a random observation. I think taking both points of view into consideration becomes a necessity in such a case.
Life is a Paradox
Let me give you another example; we as humans preach about love yet any act of love we see, we lower our eyes, even if it’s a platonic hug or a peck, on the other hand, we watch intently any act of violence, and heroically term it as “action” and “drama”. Thank God, not me, I’m a sucker for love in any case.
I should have been born in the romantic era. hehe
( wow, humans,🤦♀️ did I just have an unrealistic expectation? yes I did, proving all the things I said above)
I can write so much, but when it comes to speaking; not in general but expressing something of the darker tone I choke, I falter, I don’t know why but a lump in my throat develops that doesn’t go away until I cry. Heavy mental emotions are cancelled out by other heavy physical emotions. Ironical.
Well, all in all, and in conclusion, we seek balance to be satisfied. That’s the thing I’ve realized while writing this blog. Not summers, not winters, but spring. Meeting halfway somewhere. Slowing down when everyone seems to be racing. Agreeing but also disagreeing, (diplomacy?) balancing the good the bad, and the yin and yang. I think life is not a paradox if you don’t want it to be. Life is balance, and if that balance fades away, life does too.
Stay balanced:)
Until next time<3
